Velo v1.6 — Mini-player + Play style

New update out now 🎹

🪟 Floating mini-player — a now-playing bar that stays on top of your game (even Roblox in fullscreen). See the song, time, speed and play style, and control playback — play/pause, skip, seek — without alt-tabbing. Clicking it never steals focus from the game.
• Drag it anywhere, resize it by the edges
• Toggle it with the bell in the title bar, or a hotkey (default F9)

🎛️ Play style in the Player — choose how the autoplayer performs any song:
• Faithful — every note
• Balanced — keeps the bass + melody, thins dense chords
• Easy — melody only
Switch it live, even mid-song, with a hotkey (default F8) — no gap.

Velo v1.5 — Short notes

New update out now 🎹

Short notes — the big one. Velo now taps keys like a real player instead of holding them, so your note-trails in games (Roblox pianos, etc.) look human — not like an autoplayer.

• Turn it on in the Player options, or fine-tune it in Settings › Short notes
• Random (varied) or Fixed timing, with a live preview
• Works in the Player, Drums and MIDI → Keys

Balanced Humanize — a new profile that sits right between Subtle and Moderate, for that sweet-spot natural feel.

🎨 Custom colors — pick ANY accent color for the whole app (Settings › Appearance): presets + a full color picker
🎹 MIDI keyboard support in Practice — plug in your MIDI keyboard and practice by actually playing (new — give it a try and let me know!)
⌨️🖱️ Upgraded hotkeys — bind your mouse side-buttons (M4/M5), symbols, or unbind to None

🎲 Velo v1.2 is out — meet Random Fail (like NanoMIDI)

You know the Humanizer that makes Velo play like a real person? This is its evil twin. 😈

Random Fail adds human mistakes to playback — a note that rushes, drags, or slips to the wrong key. Two sliders, full control, off by default. Flip it on in Settings and let Velo "miss" a few like the rest of us.

🐧 Linux → git clone + ./install-linux.sh (adds it to your apps menu)

🐧 Velo now runs on Linux!

Big news: Velo officially supports Linux now — Fedora, Ubuntu/Debian, Arch and openSUSE. 🎹
Quick one-time setup that drops Velo right into your apps menu (no terminal after that):

git clone https://github.com/brenucode/velo-midiplayer.git
cd velo-midiplayer
./install-linux.sh

Then just search "Velo" in your applications and open it like any other app.
Everything works — the player, in-app sound, Practice and Stage. The only thing that needs an X11/Xorg session is typing into other apps (game pianos like Roblox / Virtual Piano), since Wayland blocks app-to-app input. Everything else runs on both.
